The audio tools of DaVinci Resolve 14 provide recording, editing and sweetening, bussing, mixing and routing, and multi format mastering for multichannel audio formats such as 5.1, 7.1, Dolby and even 22.2. That’s still the case here, but there’s a lot to like in a music application as well. Fairlight was known for extremely fast editing and a very user friendly layout, although its hardware was pretty much aimed exclusively at post. Even better, the basic workstation app is free.īlackmagic Design acquired Fairlight last year and it didn’t take long to incorporate the company’s famed audio elements into its already mature DaVinci workstation. That’s what you get with the new Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 14 workstation. So why would anyone even consider a new one? For one thing, when it’s pedigree is Fairlight, and secondly, when it’s actually an all-in-one video editor as well.
